Heavy duty steering and support links

This spring steel tie rod set is designed for the HPI Racing SAVAGE XL FLUX chassis and comes as a pair for front steering and rear support use. Built from spring steel, these links replace softer stock components and are intended to give a more rigid steering feel useful for aggressive off-road or tuning setups.

Fitting is simple for anyone familiar with link replacement: remove the current tie rods from the steering knuckles and drag links, fit the spring steel replacements, and secure using the supplied hardware. Check for correct thread engagement, apply sensible torque to avoid thread damage, and make sure the steering is centred prior to final tightening.

As tuning parts, spring steel links reduce flex seen with standard links, producing a sharper steering response. Riders should weigh the benefits against any increase in steering sensitivity and adjust suspension settings if necessary.

Packing includes

  • 3X18 Stainless Steel Button Head Screw - 4pcs
  • 3X20 Stainless Steel Button Head Screw - 4pcs
  • 3X6X2 Aluminium Collars - 4pcs
  • 3X6X3 Aluminium Collars - 4pcs
  • 3MM Lock Nut - 4pcs
Spring steel offers improved wear resistance over plastic links and can handle tougher impacts, but always inspect after heavy runs and replace any bent components to avoid steering problems.
Keep original geometry as a baseline. If you change link lengths, expect different steering centre and feedback; measure and adjust progressively while testing on a safe surface.
Periodically check fasteners for tightness and inspect collars and lock nuts for wear. Clean and dry parts after wet runs to prevent corrosion and keep threads in good condition.
