This fin-style heatsink fits over the engine head on HPI Savage 21, Savage 25 and Savage X 13 types that share the same head profile. The gold-coloured fins increase surface area around the head to assist heat dispersion in demanding off-road runs without touching engine internals.
Fitment is limited to the specified Savage heads with matching profiles. Before installation, verify head shape and check clearances under the body shell and around the exhaust and carburettor to prevent interference. The heatsink is a bolt-on external cooling aid that mounts to existing head fasteners.
Installation tips: seat the heatsink on the engine head, point fins to favour airflow, and reuse original head screws or studs where possible. Ensure there is no contact with the muffler or bodywork at full suspension travel, and confirm glow plug access. After initial runs, double-check fastener torque and clearances since thermal cycling can alter seating.
Use guidance: the heatsink provides passive cooling and does not alter timing or porting. Measure temperatures with a probe or observe running behaviour to assess benefit, and combine with adequate body venting and muffler routing for best results.
