The HUDY 101100 Advanced Comm Lathe is designed for precise commutator preparation, offering stability and repeatable adjustment. Hardened steel "V" guides plus plastic clips ensure the tool stays aligned, while the black hard-anodized finish adds protection against everyday workshop wear.

Stable travel and minimal backlash

Fine-pitch lead screw action provides very small, predictable tool steps and the tool block is configured to limit backlash for crisp cutting. Anti-vibration pads are glued to critical areas to keep chatter down and cuts clean.

Ready-to-use package

The lathe includes a fitted slave motor for connection to a 4.8V DC supply, along with a switch box and connection cable for quick setup. An adjustable back stop with a purple wheel enables fine control, and the supplied carrying case, drive belts, shims and three hex-wrenches make setup and service straightforward.

Do I get a cutter with the lathe?

No. Use a dedicated diamond cutting tool for best results on commutators; choose one rated for fine material removal to avoid excessive force.

Can I use a different motor voltage?

The supplied slave motor is configured for 4.8V DC. Using a different voltage is not recommended unless you confirm compatibility with the motor specifications.

How do I set tool height?

Use the included shims to achieve the correct tool height, then lock the tool block and verify with a trial cut. Small adjustments yield the best finish.

What maintenance is required?

Keep the guides clean and periodically check the lead screw and drive belts for wear. Light lubrication on moving parts helps maintain smooth operation.

Is the case suitable for travel?

The supplied carrying case protects the main unit and most accessories, but secure small items in separate compartments to prevent movement during transport.
