Ultra-light 27T aluminium pinion

The HUDY 294027 aluminium ULTRA-LIGHT pinion has been developed to lower rotating mass while retaining the mechanical integrity required for dependable drivetrain service. It is CNC machined from 7075 T6 aluminium and treated with a hard coat to improve wear resistance for a range of electric and nitro R/C uses.

Precision gear cutting ensures true running and minimal vibration under load. The pinion includes fine internal threading for easy mounting to compatible motor pinion hubs, and the tooth count is etched onto each unit to speed up gear checks and swaps.

Functioning as a tuning component, this pinion lets you alter final drive ratio: smaller pinions favour quicker acceleration, larger pinions favour higher top speed. Match it with your spur gear to achieve the desired balance for racing or practice.

Specifications

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some HUDY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 8-12 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The tooth count, 27T in this case, is etched on the pinion face to help you quickly confirm which gear is installed.
Aluminium alone wears faster than steel, but the applied hard coat significantly improves resistance to wear while retaining low mass.
Select a tooth count that achieves the balance you want: fewer teeth for better acceleration, more teeth for improved top speed. Factor in motor torque and track layout when tuning.
Fit the pinion to a matching threaded hub, align teeth with the spur gear, and secure per the motor and hub manufacturer's recommended procedure to ensure proper engagement.
