This 1/350 waterline plastic model reproduces the Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Hiyo and is produced as part of Hasegawa's waterline series for display modelling projects.
Hiyo was an Imperial Japanese Navy carrier active during World War II, operating conventional deck-based aircraft in Pacific fleet operations before being withdrawn from frontline duties in later stages of the war.
The kit highlights the ship's external arrangement at waterline scale, with attention to the hull profile, flight deck and island silhouette. Builders will assemble the injection-moulded parts, join island and deck sections and complete the model with paint and detailing. The product is intended for waterline display rather than a full-hulled scene.
A compact waterline representation of Hiyo for modellers assembling fleet groups or wanting a mid-war carrier subject for display.
