The Short Sunderland Mk.III was a principal long-range seaplane of World War II, widely used in anti-submarine patrols. This Italeri 1/72 kit models that legacy, showing the Mk.III variant that entered service in 1941 with enhanced patrol and sub-detection equipment for Coastal Command sorties.
Known for durability and ample range, the Sunderland Mk.III was fitted with four Bristol Pegasus radial engines. It could reach roughly 336 km/h and operate out to about 2,800 km, which is reflected in the scale proportions. Builders will find the kit satisfying for its detail and display potential.
The Italeri kit includes a super decals sheet offering six marking choices, photo-etched parts for refined detail and a colour instruction sheet to simplify paint and assembly. Remember that adhesives and paints are not included and are required to complete the model.
