The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is known for its razor-like fuselage and minimal wing area, which helped it achieve very high speeds after debuting in the late 1950s. While fast, its design demanded careful handling and steady piloting techniques.
The F-104G became a widely used variant across Europe in the 1960s, fitted with a 20mm Vulcan cannon and options for missiles or extra fuel tanks. Reconnaissance versions further modified the airframe to carry sensor pods for tactical missions.
This 1/32 Italeri kit emphasises realistic detail with engraved panel lines and interior bays. It supplies a full M-61 Vulcan assembly in the gun bay, a complete cockpit layout and avionics bay. Builders can choose to pose air brakes open or closed, and the photoetched parts add crisp, thin-scale detail. The kit contains 325 parts plus decals for eight different schemes to recreate authentic examples.
