The H-21 Shawnee, nicknamed the "Flying Banana" for its curved fuselage, is a notable rotary-wing type from the 1950s. Its tandem rotor layout supported heavy-lift and transport roles for the U.S. Army, including logistical missions during the Vietnam conflict.
