The Kyosho 40117 EP AIRSTREAK 500 is built for fast, controlled runs on open water. The 660mm FRP hull provides a solid yet responsive platform, with a bottom profile designed to resist flex while delivering quick lift onto the plane. The deep-V form plus a V-edged step and robust stringer layout help the boat accelerate cleanly and hold composure in tight turns.
Locating the V-edge step near the balance point of the hull optimises water contact during aggressive turns, helping to reduce unpredictable slides. The FRP deck and cabin are laid up to reinforce key load areas so the hull maintains consistent handling even after repeated hard use.
The anodised blue aluminium rudder delivers strong steering response and incorporates a water intake to simplify cooling plumbing and lower drag. The rudder is engineered to lift on impact, which helps protect the steering gear from major damage.
There is plenty of room for a standard R/C installation and a range of motor and battery setups. A water-cooling jacket is included to manage motor temperatures under sustained runs, and three different nylon propellers are supplied so you can dial in the balance between torque and top speed for your local water conditions.
If you like to tweak drive and cooling setups, the Kyosho 40117 EP AIRSTREAK 500 is a durable, tuneable hull that performs well for club racing or fast leisure runs.
