Nylon crush bar: purpose and use

This Kyosho GPW22 nylon crush bar set is a spare component made for the HANGING ON RACER chassis. It provides a sacrificial contact face to take low-speed impacts and to limit force transmitted to nearby body mounts and components.

Manufactured from nylon, the part keeps added mass low and allows controlled flex where needed. In everyday RC operation the bar is expected to deform or break at collision points so that main chassis repairs are easier and quicker.

Fitting is simple: position the bar on the HANGING ON RACER factory mounts and fasten with the existing screws. Check for proper alignment and the condition of fasteners before torquing down.

Practical tip: changing the bar's material or thickness alters crash energy flow. Nylon favours predictable bending and low extra weight, making it suitable for drivers who want repeatable impact response during practice.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Kyosho items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Modified chassis may have different hole patterns or clearance. Measure your mounting points and compare with the GPW22 before attempting to fit to avoid stress on fasteners or incorrect mounting.
Replace the bar after any event where it has significantly deformed or cracked. Regular visual checks after practice sessions will tell you when the part no longer provides effective protection.
Use the original screws and avoid over-tightening. Ensure the bar sits flush to the mounting surface and that screw threads are clean to prevent uneven loading that could cause premature failure.
