Optima 4WD Shell for Custom Builds

The Kyosho OTB245 is supplied unpainted for use on Optima 4WD models. This raw body provides a straightforward base for custom paint, livery work and small body mods, fitting neatly to the Optima chassis when trimmed and mounted correctly. Its build aims to be both resilient and easy to work with in the garage.

Build Notes and Paint Tips

This body suits builders who like to tinker. Use polycarbonate paints and light, even coats for the best finish. The body is robust enough for regular running but treat sharp impacts as potential wear points.

Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Kyosho items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.

Will this body take aftermarket wings or accessories?

Aftermarket wings may be fitted but will often require drilling or modified mounting. Check fit against your chosen accessory before final paint.

What is the recommended mounting method?

Use the standard Optima body posts and clips where possible. If posts do not line up perfectly, trim the inner skirt or reposition posts for a flush fit.

How should I maintain the painted body?

Avoid harsh cleaners; wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Repair small scuffs with touch-up and reapply clear coat sparingly to protect graphics.

Is the OTB245 suitable for off-road or carpet tracks?

The shell works well on both surfaces but expect different wear patterns. Off-road may produce more chips and scuffs while carpet tends to be gentler on the body sides.
