Throttle response and mass reduction

The Yokomo D-024A spur gear adapter reduces rotating mass in the drivetrain and adds a blue anodized aluminium look aimed at drift models. Cutting inertia at the spur assembly can produce quicker throttle transitions and a more responsive transient feel when adjusting drift throttle mapping.

Provided as a cosmetic and weight-reduction upgrade for compatible DP-series and MRTC chassis, the adapter fits the listed mounting pattern. Installation is straightforward with basic spur-area disassembly and small drivers; the required screws are included so you can reinstall the spur assembly without sourcing extra parts.

How does the D-024A influence throttle tuning?

Reducing rotating mass at the spur lowers inertia, which makes throttle changes register faster. That change can alter how you set throttle curves and punch for drift control.

Are extra screws needed when fitting this adapter?

No extra screws are normally required. The adapter ships with the 3 x 6mm pan head BH screws and the 3 x 4mm set screw to match the mounting pattern listed for compatible models.

Will swapping to this adapter change drivetrain longevity?
