The O.S. Engine main shaft is an aftermarket replacement specified for OMA-3805-1200 assemblies and intended as a drop-in service part for hobby motors using that shaft configuration. It allows refresh of the rotating internals without swapping the motor housing or other matched components.
When you service the motor, remove it from the model and dismantle the endbells following the manufacturer's guidance. Keep the original bearings and retaining hardware if they are in good condition, inspect for wear, then fit the replacement shaft in the same orientation. Do not force parts, ensure bearings seat squarely, and confirm smooth rotation before putting the motor back into service.
Installing a new main shaft often restores correct axial alignment and reduces vibration, which improves overall motor stability and makes subsequent rotor balance and gear mesh tuning more predictable.
