The Yokomo MD-144LW is a 5.0mm wide drive belt developed for MD3.0 and compatible MDR-030 variants to reduce belt stretch and produce crisper acceleration response on 1/10 scale electric RC cars.

When compared to a 3.0mm belt, the increased width lowers elongation under load for a firmer connection between the motor and spur gear. This also reduces the likelihood of belt skipping and can improve repeatability during aggressive runs.

For performance tuning, a small increase in belt tension where chassis design permits often makes initial throttle pickup feel sharper; however, keep tension in balance with bearing and gearbox preload to avoid unnecessary drag.

Fitment pointers: ensure pulleys are parallel, test engagement at low throttle after installation, and monitor tooth wear to maintain consistent performance.
