Designed for the Mini-Z MR-04EVO2 platform, this 1/27-scale chassis set concentrates on performance upgrades and EVO2-era technical improvements within Kyosho's Mini-Z range.
The MR-04EVO2 is a notable revision of the MR series released at the end of 2023, the first comprehensive update in 14 years while keeping the MR-03 layout principles. The platform brings a sensored brushless motor, revised front suspension geometry, a lowered battery position to improve the center of gravity, and improved high-speed radio communication. These updates focus on delivering tighter handling and stable behaviour at speed for circuit racing.
This chassis is supplied as a mechanical and electronic upgrade package rather than a body kit. Key parts include the stiffer Front Suspension Arm 2.0, kingpin-integrated front knuckles for enhanced camber stability, and seven 3 mm inner-diameter ball bearings to reduce rotational friction. The lower battery mount compared with older MR-03 setups helps cornering performance. A ball differential is included for balanced slip and traction in corners. Gyro and certain radio items are excluded to let builders choose components that match class regulations and personal tuning goals. ESC and motor RPM tweaks are accessible via the I.C.S. Setting Manager to align with Mini-Z Cup rules effective 2025.
The chassis set is intended as a performance-focused upgrade inside the Mini-Z range, concentrating on suspension geometry, lower battery positioning, and reduced bearing friction to improve lap-time potential and setup flexibility.
