The 13T pinion is produced for electric RC drivetrains that match the specified geometry. Fabricated from 40Cr steel and given a hardened black finish, it is specified as 13 teeth with a module of 0.5mm and a round 2.2mm motor bore. The part is retained with two 3x3 set screws.
In use the pinion provides a compact and durable connection between the motor shaft and the spur gear. Confirm the motor accepts a 2.2mm bore pinion and that the driven gear uses a 0.5mm module prior to fitting. For accurate mesh and reliable operation install the pinion with the drivetrain assembled and check concentricity before tightening the set screws.
As a tuning item the pinion allows swapping tooth counts to change overall gear ratio while maintaining consistent tooth geometry. The hardened 40Cr construction is intended to give improved wear resistance compared with softer alloys under typical RC driving conditions.
