Sturdy motor mount for MR-04/LM Mini-Z

This Kyosho MZW714-LM aluminum motor mount is produced as a replacement fixing for Mini-Z MR-04/LM chassis platforms. It creates a more rigid motor seat than typical plastic parts, aiding repeatable adjustment of pinion engagement and alignment.

Being aluminum the mount offers improved structural support where the original mount can flex. It helps retain motor alignment, supports bearing positioning and stabilises pinion engagement under varying loads. The layout follows MR-04/LM mounting points so the piece fits into the chassis using existing fasteners.

Installation summary: remove body and the original motor mount, fit the motor to the new Kyosho MZW714-LM, and secure it to the chassis while checking pinion-to-spur mesh and shaft alignment. Confirm free motor rotation and correct mesh before final assembly, and do not overtighten screws to avoid damaging chassis threads.

When tuning, the aluminium mount makes motor swaps and pinion changes more predictable by keeping the motor location stable, which helps maintain consistent drivetrain behavior. Periodically tighten mounting screws and verify electrical connections after reassembly.

Compatibility

Compatible with MR-04/LM chassis models as indicated in the product name and intended for Mini-Z use only.

Select this mount when you require a rigid metal replacement for MR-04/LM motor fixing to improve repeatability across setup changes.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Kyosho items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
By providing a rigid mounting reference the Kyosho MZW714-LM reduces variation in motor position, making changes to pinion size and motor swaps produce more predictable effects on drivetrain behavior.
After changing pinion size recheck mesh and rotate the motor by hand to ensure there is no binding. Small mesh adjustments may be required to maintain smooth engagement.
Because it helps keep mesh consistent, the mount can reduce noise caused by loose or shifting motor position; however correct mesh is still the primary factor in drivetrain noise control.
Shimming needs depend on your motor and pinion. The mount provides a stable base, but you may still need thin shims to achieve ideal axial and radial alignment for certain combinations.
