Essential sanding sheets for scale model finishing

The Mr.Hobby GSI-GT20 sand paper pack includes three frequently used grits - 180, 240 and 320 - supplied as six sheets for RC model surface preparation and finishing. These sheets are intended for manual sanding tasks like trimming excess plastic, blending filler and preparing surfaces ahead of primer and paint.

Work progressively from the coarse 180 grit to the finer 320 grit to remove tooling marks and refine outlines; use controlled, even strokes and inspect small components such as body panels and trim pieces often. The sheets are sized for hand use and can be used with small sanding blocks when a flat backing is required for larger sections.

Keep separate sheets for putty and final paint prep to prevent cross contamination. For thin or intricate parts, reduce pressure and consider supporting the paper with a slim block to avoid over sanding corners and edges.
