This piston pin is supplied as an RC-scale replacement for O.S. Engine 35AX-class units and compatible 35AX-pattern assemblies. It functions as the pivot between piston and connecting rod and is sold as a single pcs spare for periodic maintenance and repair of nitro model engines.
Fitting is intended for a hobbyist workbench: remove the piston assembly, check the bore and pin seating surfaces for wear or marks, push the pin through the piston and align with the connecting rod, and refit any circlips or retainers. Apply a small amount of assembly oil to contact surfaces prior to final assembly to reduce wear, and re-check axial clearance after installation.
In service cycles the piston pin is a wear component that influences sealing behavior and rotational smoothness. Replace it if scoring, ovality, or excessive play are present, and inspect the piston ring and connecting rod bearing concurrently to ensure uniform engine operation.
