Setup-oriented progressive springs for drifting

Yokomo's YOKD171BL springs are a two-piece progressive pair intended for 1/10-scale drift cars, giving builders a way to refine suspension response. Finished in soft blue with a 1.1 x 10.5 turns progressive wind, these springs are designed for use in drift shock assemblies.

Role in handling: progressive rate behaviour means a softer initial section that increases in stiffness with compression, helping to control lateral load transfer and maintain predictable slide angles. Use them to tune entry aggression, mid-drift balance, and exit stability by adjusting placement or preload between axles.

Practical fit notes: always verify the spring bore against your shock shaft and ensure the spring seats cleanly in the cup. Compress with suitable collars or preload tools and avoid forcing springs onto incompatible shafts. Test in small increments to isolate the effect of each change.

Tuning approach: combine these springs with stable damper settings and consistent tyres, document each adjustment for repeatability, and revert to known baselines if behaviour becomes inconsistent. For RC drift practice and competitive use only.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The softer initial rate helps smoother entry, while the rising rate under load reduces excessive roll and gives firmer exit control, improving predictability through the maneuver.
Yes, tyre grip changes interact with spring behaviour; keep tyre compound and tread consistent while testing spring settings to isolate their effect.
The springs are intended for drift use and should withstand regular practice, but inspect for wear or deformation and replace if the spring wind or temper shows signs of fatigue.
