The RD-630P is a lightweight spur gear hub crafted to replace original units on Yokomo RD, SD, and MD drift chassis. By using a larger-diameter profile the spur sits closer to the gear case, which cuts vibration and helps keep mesh stable when the car is slid sideways.
This closer positioning reduces sideways loading on the top shaft during sharp throttle inputs, yielding a more immediate acceleration feel. The hub contour promotes better spur retention and smoother rotational behavior with fewer abrupt impulses.
Installing the RD-630P in lieu of series-standard spur hubs (for example Y4-630A, Y2-630PA, Y2-630RA) requires attention to set-screw placement, as it differs from the stock hubs. The RD-631 aluminum top shaft is the correct match if you need to realign the screw fixing position.
Use the RD-630P to tune for reduced vibration and crisper throttle reaction; double-check set-screw alignment and fit the RD-631 top shaft where needed to secure the hub properly.
