O-ring and countersunk washer service kit

This maintenance pack provides replacement rubber O-rings and aluminium countersunk washers for the rear bulkhead shaft on the Yokomo R12 scale touring car. Packaged as a small service kit, the parts refresh sealing and ensure correct washer seating where the shaft joins the bulkhead, and they can be used on matching GT-series chassis as option parts.

Designed for hobby RC use, the kit supports routine trackside checks and workshop rebuilds. Replacing worn seals and resitting countersunk washers helps maintain consistent shaft alignment and reduces unwanted rear-end play that affects handling.

Installation is direct for those familiar with the R12 rear-end: remove the old seals and washers, clean the mating faces, insert the new O-rings into the grooves, and locate the aluminium countersunk washers so fixings sit flush. Standard RC hand tools are sufficient for the job.

Do I need to lubricate the O-rings before fitting?

A light film of silicone grease can help seat the O-rings and prevent pinching during assembly, but avoid excessive lubricant which could attract dirt.
