KC10 skid plate description

The Kyosho CL008 centre skid is supplied as a direct replacement for KC10 chassis applications, serving as a scale accessory to protect the underbody. It sits at the centre underside of the chassis and provides a consistent surface where the model may contact terrain or track fixtures.

Compatibility is restricted to KC10 chassis layouts, so check your chassis type before ordering. The part is designed to attach to the KC10's existing mounting points and use the original fasteners without altering chassis geometry.

Fitting is straightforward: remove the damaged skid from the KC10 centre, position the CL008 onto the mounting bosses, and fasten with the chassis hardware to the recommended torque. Avoid over-tightening to prevent damage to the bosses.

From a setup perspective the centre skid affects underside clearance and sliding behaviour when the chassis meets surfaces. Swapping the skid is part of routine maintenance or track setup changes to control wear rather than to modify suspension performance.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Kyosho items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The skid sets the contact plane for underside interactions and can slightly influence effective clearance. It is primarily for wear control; any ride height changes are minimal and should be assessed during setup.
Yes, different skid conditions affect how the chassis slides over surfaces. Replacing a worn skid helps restore predictable sliding behaviour without altering suspension tuning.
After fitting, verify underside clearance and overall handling. Minor setup tweaks may be useful to compensate for any change in contact characteristics, but the skid itself does not change core suspension geometry.
Yes. Align the CL008 with the KC10 mounting points before tightening hardware to ensure even load on the mounting bosses and consistent skid contact across the chassis bottom.
