RPX4 capacitor function and upkeep

The Yokomo BL-RPX4C is a direct-fit electrolytic capacitor for RPX4 series ESCs, placed to smooth supply voltage and reduce transient interference. Aging capacitors lose their filtering ability and can cause the ESC to behave less consistently under load.

Practical notes for installation and upkeep:

• Function: Connected across the ESC input, the cap tames voltage spikes and lowers electromagnetic disturbance that can affect motor and control signals.
• Compatibility: Suited to RPX4 ESCs and compatible with many 1/10 touring and universal chassis designs.
• Replacement cues: Replace if the cap bulges, leaks fluid, gets excessively hot, or if ESC performance degrades after heavy use.
• Fitting tips: Observe polarity markings, shorten and secure leads to reduce inductance, and match the original capacitance and voltage when replacing.
