High-torque servo designed for big RC builds

The Futaba S5050 is a 1/4 scale digital servo built to provide extra torque for radio-controlled models with large control surfaces or heavy control linkages.

It is appropriate for RC airplanes, 1/5 scale gas cars and power boats where a single high-performance servo can substitute for dual installations on elevators or ailerons. Core mechanical features include metal gearing, dual ball bearings, a 5-pole motor and dust- and water-resistant construction. The servo comes with a Futaba J male connector and a selection of horns and mounting hardware to suit standard installations.

For installations needing a single, higher-capacity servo for elevators, ailerons or other heavy control surfaces, the S5050 offers a metal-gear digital option with included mounting hardware and horn selections to help with fitting and tuning large RC models.

Adjust travel and endpoints via your transmitter or a compatible programmer to match control throw needs; fine tuning prevents servo overstrain and ensures correct surface movement.
Inspect linkages and mounting hardware regularly, check for gear wear, and avoid sustained exposure to water; replace seals or reapply protective coatings if used in humid or marine settings.
A 5-pole motor provides smoother torque delivery and improved holding power under load, helping with precise control on large surfaces.
Yes, the S5050 suits power boats, but ensure the installation has appropriate sealing and that the connector and wiring are protected from spray and immersion risks.
At 127 g, the servo adds noticeable mass; account for its weight when planning CG and mounting position, and balance the model accordingly.
