Bring a 960-08 Up to 966 Race Spec
The Serpent 903326 upgrade package contains the parts needed to convert a 960-08 into the 966 race-orientated layout. The kit includes a CNC chassis plate, aluminium and carbon rear components, a dedicated low-mounted brake system and a full complement of more than 170 steel allen screws, together with the bearings required for the changeover.
7075 T6 Chassis Plate Features
The 966 chassis plate is produced from aluminium 7075 T6, selected for high strength and low mass. CNC machining provides chamfered edges to prevent contact issues in turns. The plate is drilled for countersunk allen screws, has a cooling recess under the engine and specific zones for engine mounts and rear brackets, with space for a brass front plate or carbon insert if you want extra stiffness up front.
Performance-Oriented Brake Unit
This upgrade fits a low-slung brake assembly to help achieve a lower centre of gravity. Spring-loaded plates run on polished steel shafts for predictable braking feel, while the ball-raced, hard-anodised brake cam distributes pressure via larger pins mounted in the aluminium bracket.
Robust 2-Speed Shaft Mounting
CNC-machined anodised aluminium brackets give precise bearing locations for the 2-speed shaft. They carry the ball-raced rear anti-roll bar and are compatible with carbon fibre side brackets to sharpen chassis response.
Rear Support and Belt Tensioning
The anodised CNC rear axle supports add stiffness and make routine maintenance quicker. The design simplifies belt tensioning and provides fast access to the rear shaft, pulley and belt, while eccentric inserts allow three belt-tension settings for setup tuning.
Suspension Brackets and Shock Tower Options
Machined anodised suspension brackets hold the lower rear pivot pins firmly. The kit also supplies 4mm carbon fibre suspension brackets and a rear shock tower offering four shock-angle positions so you can tune handling for different track surfaces.
