High retention rear differential for Serpent Natrix 748 V2

The Serpent 804391 rear differential set is a targeted upgrade for Natrix 748 V2 cars, developed to stabilise drivetrain response. The reworked housing keeps a larger oil volume to preserve consistent damping during extended running, and a small bleeder port allows excess oil to be expelled before you secure it with a grub screw for maintenance access.

Internal improvements and pulley requirements

The kit includes gears with a deeper tooth form to ensure precise mesh and superlight hardened spring steel axles for strength and low inertia. Each diff case has a moulded spring steel bushing to add support. To fit the V2 diff correctly you will need the new larger pulleys and their side belt; the greater diameter helps reduce belt bending and can sharpen throttle response. Choose between standard pulleys or white low friction versions depending on your setup preference.

Swap-in replacement for earlier models

The gearset is compatible with the 748 V1 gear differentials, allowing the 804391 to be used as a drop-in replacement in many older configurations when refreshing worn differentials.

Basic model tools and a small hex driver for the grub screw are sufficient. Take care to set oil levels and ensure gears mesh smoothly before closing the case.
Use diff oil suited to your driving style and track conditions; thicker oils give more lock while lighter oils free up the diff. Start with a medium viscosity and tune from there.
Larger pulleys affect belt routing but do not change the transmission gear ratio between motor and spur. They do reduce belt stress which can improve responsiveness under acceleration.
