Performance 2-Speed Gearbox Upgrade for Serpent 966

The Serpent 903360 2-Speed Gearbox SL8 Upgrade Kit provides a lighter, stiffer 2-speed setup for the Serpent 966 chassis, aimed at improving acceleration and gearbox longevity under race conditions.

Superlight Construction and Direct Bearing Support

This assembly reduces rotational inertia with a superlight design while maintaining smooth engagement. It features an 8mm solid spring-steel shaft with a one-way bearing that runs directly on the shaft to cut friction. The aluminium bell is reinforced to cope with race stresses and preserve balance.

Track-Proven Parts List

• Aluminum Brake-Pulley Adaptor: Supplied with three steel pins and includes a new brake disk so you can fit it straight away.
• Delrin Bushings: 8x14x4mm bearings sit in these bushings to stabilise the gearbox brackets.
• Spring-Steel Adaptor: A reduced-size, lighter adaptor that improves gearbox efficiency.
• Aluminum Flange: Houses a German one-way bearing to lower mass and improve balance.
• Optimized Gears: Reprofiled 2-speed gears cut weight, boost durability and smooth mesh; options include 48/49 or 50T.

Fitment and Installation Tips

Designed for V2 rear 2-speed shaft brackets found on the 966 and EVO; it accepts existing clutches and pinions so installation is straightforward for experienced builders.
