Maintenance and tuning note

This Yokomo YOKB7-S5S shock shaft is supplied as a replacement part compatible with BD7-2014 SLF short shocks and is intended for 1/10 touring car damper service. It provides a like-for-like mechanical shaft swap so you can keep your damping hardware in serviceable condition without altering the shock body.

Replace the shaft if straightness or surface finish has deteriorated; typical service steps include removing the shock from the suspension, taking off the spring and end caps, removing the worn shaft and piston, fitting the new shaft, and reassembling while confirming oil level and correct piston alignment. Remember that oil weight and piston choice determine damping, so retain your chosen tune when swapping the shaft.

For tuning and track prep the shaft's runout and fit can influence seal drag and friction, so use a straight, well-finished replacement to minimise inconsistent damper action. This component is a 1/10 scale RC damper part and is not suitable for full-size vehicles.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
A bent or rough shaft increases seal friction and can produce inconsistent rebound and compression, so a straight, smooth shaft helps keep damping predictable.
Yes. The replacement shaft does not change piston geometry or oil viscosity, so you can reinstall your current piston and oil to preserve your established tune.
Check shaft alignment, seal seating, and oil level. Run the shock through travel to confirm smooth action and that no leaks are present.
