How the SSG rear tower affects handling

This SS graphite rear shock tower is created for the SSG conversion found in drift packages and functions as an upgraded replacement rear tower. It establishes the mounting points for rear shocks and adds rigidity to the rear subframe on RC drift chassis, affecting how loads transfer through the suspension.

As part of the SSG conversion procedure, this tower usually replaces the standard rear tower included with the conversion kit. The graphite construction focuses on keeping mass low while increasing stiffness, and it fits using the conversion kit's mounting pattern. During installation, confirm alignment and clearances to keep suspension geometry correct.

In tuning sessions, a stiffer rear tower alters lateral response, stabilising shock positions and changing body roll and traction transition behavior when drifting. Fit this component when you need consistent shock anchoring and a tunable shift in rear stiffness for drift-specific setups.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Increasing rear tower stiffness tends to reduce unwanted flex, shifting the suspension response and often making rear traction transitions more predictable during drifts.
Graphite offers higher stiffness at low weight, so you will often notice firmer shock mounting and less variation under load compared with softer stock plastics.
After installation check suspension droop, confirm shock angles, and run a short test to verify there are no clearance or alignment issues before final tuning changes.
