Super-Flex Dot 1 Differential Oil

Yokomo's YOKCSDOT1 is a Dot 1 viscosity silicone differential oil designed for gear diffs in RC models. It targets 1/10 scale electric on-road and touring platforms that benefit from a livelier centre diff and improved low-speed traction. This product is a precision tuning fluid for model use only.

Dot 1 offers reduced drag inside the diff and encourages quicker internal recovery after steering inputs, which sharpens turn-in and helps maintain traction in low-adhesion conditions. Use it to achieve a freer centre action compared to heavier dot grades.

Fitting is simple: drain the old fluid, clean the internals if required, refill to the recommended level for your differential type, and run a brief on-track session to let behaviour stabilise before final setup tweaks.

How does Dot 1 change handling compared with heavier oils?

Dot 1 reduces internal resistance, giving faster diff response and looser centre behaviour, which can improve turn-in but may require other setup changes to maintain mid-corner balance.

Should I alter other setup items when using Dot 1?

You may need to adjust toe, camber or anti-roll bars slightly to compensate for quicker diff recovery; test incrementally and note changes to dial in balance.

Are there track conditions where Dot 1 is not suitable?

On very high-grip surfaces a super-low viscosity may reduce stability under power. Use Dot 1 where low-speed traction and quick steering response are priorities.
