This 1/12 scale plastic assembly kit reproduces the 1974 McLaren M23 for modellers who want a display-quality replica with intricate components.
The M23 arrived in 1973 as a successor to earlier McLaren designs and underwent continual development through the decade. It produced notable results in the 1974 season and continued to be raced in updated form, showing the era's engineering evolution.
The kit models the M23 bodywork with removable front cowling, cockpit fairing and induction box to allow staged presentation and internal access. The steering wheel links to the front wheels so the steering action can be demonstrated after build.
Engine representation includes a Ford-Cosworth DFV V8 with detailed fuel lines and ignition leads. Both front and rear suspension units are built with moving components and coil springs to mirror the original setup.
Additional realism comes from photo-etched parts for brake discs and cockpit fittings, while seatbelt regions use cloth-effect decals paired with metal buckles. Two race number decal options are provided and synthetic rubber slick tyres are included. Assembly will require painting and standard modelling tools.
A finely detailed 1/12 McLaren M23 kit that provides engine, cockpit and suspension features for modellers aiming for an accurate period display.
