The Tamiya 12048 Ferrari 312B model presents the classic Grand Prix car in 1/12 scale with a focus on authentic mechanical detail. Photo-etched parts are supplied to lift the level of small-scale realism, and the kit is tailored for modellers who prefer a precise build. The moulding dates back to the last major issue in 1998.
Designed with movable front and rear suspension, the kit allows realistic positioning of the chassis. The removable nose section shows internal assemblies, and steerable front wheels paired with synthetic rubber tyres reproduce a true-to-era appearance. Photo-etched elements include seatbelt buckles, brake detail and radiator highlights.
Metal transfers and dedicated seatbelt stickers are included for fine-detail work, while vinyl tubing simulates ignition leads. A driver figure comes with the kit, and Cartograf decals cover liveries driven by Jacky Ickx, Clay Regazzoni and Mario Andretti. The completed model spans 432mm in length, making it a prominent exhibit.
