Realistic twill carbon detail using Tamiya 12682

The Tamiya 12682 extra fine carbon pattern decal delivers a delicate twill texture that helps recreate realistic carbon fibre on scale models. Suitable for car and motorcycle projects, the sheet is aimed at hobbyists who want subtle, authentic-looking carbon accents on external panels and small components.

Tips for fitting the decal to curving components

Cut the Tamiya 12682 sheet to size and use Tamiya MARK FIT or MARK FIT STRONG to assist adhesion on curved surfaces. Warm the area gently if needed and smooth the film into place, taking care around tight radii to avoid creases.

Works across common static scales

This flexible decal is useful for a variety of scales, from display 1/6 models to 1/24 kits. It allows precise application on spoilers, winglets, door panels and other trim parts.

This is just to let you know just how impressed I was to receive my order in perfect condition and It was all due to the fantastic packing and shipping preparation you went to, a wonderful effort and, it was well protected. Ha ahah, in fact, I had trouble
Use a soft silicone or cotton cloth and work from the centre outwards while the MARK FIT setting solution is active. Small pinpricks can be used to release trapped air before sealing.
You can mask and spray a very light tint, but test on a scrap piece first. Heavy paint layers may obscure the fine twill texture.
Yes. Apply weathering pigments or light drybrushing after sealing the decal with a clear coat to maintain the weave detail while adding aged effects.
