Fine Detail Parts to Improve Your M551 Sheridan Build

The Tamiya 12687 - 1/35 M551 Sheridan Etching Parts & Metal Barrel Set supplies high quality detail pieces for hobbyists working on Vietnam-era Sheridan models. It is made to match the US Airborne Tank M551 Sheridan (item 35365) and adds authentic surface elements to your assembled model.

Aluminium Barrel and Etchings for Cleaner Detail

The kit features a turned aluminium gun barrel plus two photo-etched frets. The turned barrel accurately mimics the appearance of the 152mm gun/launcher and reduces modelling work by avoiding seam lines. The photo-etched components recreate the anti-RPG net and the engine grilles on the hull top for fine, scale-true detail.

Suited to Modelers Who Value Precision

For those who enjoy detailed builds and display quality finishes, these components provide an easy way to enhance the Sheridan's defining features. They fit into a careful build workflow and reward time spent on finishing.

Very good and efficient service and an extensive range of products at a very competitive price.
Most fits are accurate for the Tamiya M551 kit, but minor trimming or dry-fitting may be needed to align the barrel perfectly with the mantlet and turret openings.
Thin cyanoacrylate glue or small drops of epoxy work well. Apply sparingly to avoid excess glue showing through fine etched elements.
Handle parts on a soft mat, use tweezers for placement and paint with light thin coats. Consider a clear coat for protection after painting to lock in fragile details.
