The Tamiya 14001 kit recreates the Yamaha YZR500 that competed at the top level in 1980. This 1/12 scale model lets builders replicate the machine ridden by Kenny Roberts Sr., preserving the two-stroke character and Yamaha innovations such as the power valve system.

Detailing and Presentation

Attention is paid to the YZR500 bodywork, including the flowing front fairing and the shaped seat unit. The engine comes as a consolidated piece with surrounding fittings to reduce build complexity while showing key details.
