When Kenny Roberts took the long awaited engine Grand Prix 500cc Class World Championship inside year 2000 period with his 4 solid victories and uncanny consistency, it marked the first victory for Team Suzuki since driver Kevin Schwantz took the championship in 1993. For Kenny Roberts, Jr. it was not merely an individual and team victory, but a household victory besides, as he adopted in the footsteps of their daddy, Kenny Roberts, Sr. (called "King" Kenny), whom reigned victorious inside Motor Grand Prix through the entire 80's. The Roberts became initial father-son champions in Motor Grand Prix Circuit history. Into the 2001 season the RGV champ machine was again to be utilized, but would feature an even more powerful engine as well as other improvements.
