This 1/12 scale plastic assembly kit depicts the Yamaha YZR-M1 fielded by the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team in 2009, offered as a display-oriented replica capturing frame and engine layout.
In 2009 the team introduced a new primary sponsor, leading to a largely black paint scheme with white and fluorescent yellow elements. Bridgestone supplied tyres exclusively that year, which necessitated changes to chassis setup for the YZR-M1. Rider Colin Edwards adapted to the tyre switch and produced steady points finishes, including a strong second place at the British Grand Prix following a late overtake.
The kit focuses on accurate external mechanical representation. The twin-tube delta box frame and the 800cc inline-4 engine are modelled as visible external components. Included are synthetic rubber front and rear tyres and vinyl tubing to mimic throttle, clutch, and brake lines. Side fairings and the fuel tank cover are manufactured to be removable after assembly for display access. Special parts allow the suspension to be shown in a compressed state, and Cartograph decals are provided for the 2009 livery reproduction.
Perfect for advanced hobbyists, this kit prioritizes visible mechanical detail and authentic livery to produce an attractive display model.
