The Tamiya 15512 Mild Brake Sponge Set is aimed at racers wanting finer control when braking. It contains three thicknesses - 1mm, 2mm and 3mm - each delivering a step up in braking force without harsh lockups. The blue set gives a softer braking profile than the red Item 15492 alternative, making it ideal where smoother slowdowns are required.

These sponge sheets are compatible with MA, MS, AR, Super-II and Super XX chassis, covering many typical Mini 4WD builds. The middle thickness measures 100x50mm while the other two are 50x50mm, so you can quickly identify and fit the correct piece. Use them to tweak braking balance front to rear or to tame sections that need controlled speed bleed-off.

How should I place the sponge for best effect?

Place sponge where wheel or guide contact is highest to reduce overspeed into corners. Small adjustments in position change braking feel a lot, so test one change at a time to measure impact.
