Tamiya 15547 - Spike Tire & Wheel Set EZ all-terrain option

The Tamiya 15547 Spike Tire & Wheel Set is aimed at improving grip and climb performance on Mini 4WD models that use the EZ chassis. The spike tread pattern offers better engagement on loose or uneven surfaces, ideal for hobbyists running rough courses.

Construction and Compatibility

Included are four spike tyres made from black elastomer paired with four gun metal polypropylene wheels. The spikes give noticeable traction gains on irregular surfaces and uphill sections. These wheels are intended for Trail Mini 4WD hex shaft setups and will not fit standard Mini 4WD racing axles. You may need to alter the body shell or mounts to clear the larger tyre profile on some chassis.

Can I run these on a tarmac surface?

They will work on tarmac but traction and handling are optimised for loose or uneven terrain, so performance on smooth surfaces will differ from race tyres.

Do these fit race car axles?

No. The Tamiya 15547 set is compatible with the hex shafts found on Trail Mini 4WD kits and is not suitable for standard race car axles.

How should I maintain these tyres?

Keep them free of large debris, rinse if muddy, and inspect spikes for wear after heavy trail use. Replace if spikes are flattened or cracked.
