The Tamiya 18623 Savanna Leo showcases a bold, animal-inspired body based on Hidemasa Komatsu's anniversary-winning design. It brings a distinctive aesthetic while remaining rooted in Mini 4WD performance principles.
Mounted on the MS chassis with a mid-mounted Type 130 motor, the Savanna Leo aims for balanced handling and reliable speed delivery. The model uses an N-02 nose unit and larger dish wheels suited to high-speed layouts, and the shell is compatible across MS chassis variants for custom projects.
The kit is built around a 3-piece detachable chassis that snaps together without glue, running with a 4:1 gear ratio to favour acceleration and top-end speed. Two R6/AA/UM3 alkaline batteries are required and are sold separately, and the platform invites straightforward tuning for tougher tracks.
