About the German King Tiger "Production Turret"

So that you can counter the increasing risk of Russian tanks during the latter the main 2nd World War, Germany started development of a brand new hefty tank in February 1943. Officially designated the Panzerkampfwagen VI-B Tiger II, but better referred to as King Tiger, it featured dense armor and a robust primary gun. Henschel and Porsche, that has prior experiences in the manufacturing of heavy tanks, developed rival prototypes integrating various turret configurations. After trials, the Henschel design was used for production. The King Tiger carried the kind 43 L71, 88mm high velocity primary gun that was with the capacity of penetrating 170mm thick armor plate far away of 1000 meters. Auxiliary armament included two 7.92mm device firearms attached to the front hull section and on the turret. The incredibly thick armor regarding turret front calculated 185mm and 88mm regarding part panels. Power with this massive tank had been supplied by a Maybach HL230 P30 V-12 cylinder, liquid cooled motor, creating 700 horsepower. The King Tiger went into mass manufacturing during the Henschel factory starting August 1944, after the delivery for the last Tiger we tanks. Even though the tank possessed higher level technology and elegance, just 430 devices including the Henschel turret arrived off the factory line, and less than 500 total had been ever designed for combat.
