Entered by Team Honda Racing, the Takata Dome NSX ended up being piloted by Ryo Michigami, widely considered as Honda's ace driver, and rookie Takashi Kogure through the 2005 Super GT period. The group obtained 2nd place at Round 5 Motegi along with their automobile running on a naturally-aspirated mid-mounted 3.5 liter V6 motor, but bad luck plagued the team and dashed their high hopes the season.
