• Riding on back associated with the two time 250cc and two time 350cc World Champion Kork Ballington's riding skills, Kawasaki debuted in 500cc path Race Championship in 1980. He raced on a KR500 works machine which had an aluminum monocoque framework. It had a 498cc water-cooled square-four motor, and a completely independent back unit suspension system.
