Toyota introduced the Lexus SC430 since the successor to the Supra the 2006 Super GT. Driven by the duo of Juichi Wakisaka and Andre Lotterer, the team?s most useful finish so far had been winning Round 1 at Suzuka Circuit. Consistent performances kept the group among the name contenders, and it all came right down to the last battle regarding the period, Round 9 Fuji. A 4th place finish was just enough for the team to fit past its competitors and claim the 2006 Super GT Championship by the slim margin of just one point.
