The Tamiya 1/24 Honda Prelude XX model recreates the styling and mechanical traits of the early 80s second generation Prelude. Launched in 1982, the real vehicle featured front double wishbone suspension and a rear MacPherson setup that contributed to nimble handling and comfort. The FWD coupe also offered a broad track and some versions had a 4-wheel ABS option for improved braking control.
The original Prelude was driven by a 1,829cc 4-cylinder SOHC engine with three valves per cylinder, producing about 125 hp and a top speed near 170 km/h. Tamiya captures the wedge silhouette, pop-up headlights and sunroof in scale, offering builders a chance to recreate this period sport coupe with authentic detail.
This Tamiya kit suits a range of skill levels. The removable bonnet gives access to a detailed engine bay for display. Headlights can be assembled in either the raised or lowered position and the kit uses synthetic rubber tyres with true-to-scale tread for realism on the finished model.
