About the Castrol Toyota Toms Supra GT

This is the TA24163 a 1/24 vinyl Castrol Toyota Tom's Supra GT Racing car from Tamiya. For modelers ages 10 and above. Japan GT Automobile Championships were inaugurated in 1993, and they are becoming more popular with motorsports buffs throughout domestic Japan. As well as the highly modified Japanese cars, the super automobiles of Europe, like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, vie for the name.

During the 1995 season Toyota joined a fleet of their race tuned Supra GT's into this popular occasion. Loaded in to the Supra look alike human body shell had been Toyota's latest rushing technology. A 2,140cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged powerplant was extracted from Toyota's Eagle Mk.III racing machine, that was active through the '93 IMSA races into the U.S.A. The X-Trac developed sequential 6-speed gearbox effectively transmitted this engine's awesome power to the rear tires. Four wheel double wishbone suspension system elements were obtained from another Toyota prototype racer, the TS010. The human body shell was extensively modified to have better yet aerodynamics. Extra air intakes and outlets, oversized fenders and a massive rear spoiler, gave its massive silhouette and even more aggressive look.

Four various race teams used the Supra through the '95 period and among them, Tom's was sponsored by Castrol. Driven by skilled drivers Sekiya and Krumm, the Castrol Tom's Supra pleased the racing fans having its outstanding performance throughout the season.
