The Fi156 Storch is famed for its short field performance and was widely deployed in liaison and reconnaissance roles during the Second World War. Its mix of fabric covered steel tube fuselage and wooden wing construction helped it remain in use across several countries after the war.
The Tamiya 1/48 kit reproduces the Storchs shape and cockpit layout with considerable fidelity. Metal frame parts enhance the wing and undercarriage realism, and photo-etched parts increase cockpit detail. Engine cowlings can be removed to reveal the Argus As10C engine, and builders can select between open or closed boarding hatch plus adjustable flap positions for dynamic displays.
Five marking schemes are included to cover Swiss, Italian and Hungarian examples, and canopy masks are supplied to simplify painting the glazing and doors for a clean finish.
