The Tamiya 1/48 Messerschmitt Me262 A-2a and Kettenkraftrad kit presents a faithful scale interpretation of an influential WWII jet and the ground vehicle that supported it. The set is aimed at enthusiasts who value authenticity and clean assembly work.
Developed as Allied air raids intensified, the A-2a was adapted to perform as a fighter-bomber. It differed from the A-1a interceptor by mounting two 30mm MK108 cannons and including an extra fuel tank, which supported bomb loads up to about one ton. The model reflects those combat adaptations for accurate modelling reference.
The Kettenkraftrad half-track motorcycle in the kit shows the practical towing role it performed when traditional towing equipment was in short supply. Its gearbox, with three forward and one reverse gear, made it effective off-road and is shown in the model detailing.
