In regards to the U.S. Tank Destroyer M10 Mid ProductionAmerica�s first tank destroyer, the M10 had been installed on a Sherman hull and had an open topped turret carrying a 3-inch (76.2mm) cannon effective at penetrating 8.8cm of armor at 1000m distance. Because of the requirement for high mobility, the M10 wore fairly thin armor plating. However, auxiliary armor could be added effortlessly utilizing the bolts on the turret and hull.
